Amazing how straight lines monopolize our civilized world.
For the efficient, they represent the most direct path from A to B. For the orderly, they keep the segregation clear. For the aesthetics, they keep our eyes protected from the chaos of curves.
One toe out of the line, and our modern infrastructure becomes less optimized for precision, division, and organization. God forbid, a car encroaches on the bus lane; a building design does not maximize space; an individual cuts into the queue.
How strikingly unnatural, though, when budding tulips are bred in captivity, or tree roots are caged in between three feet of cement.
Let these denizens of chaos and curves and color run untethered and undivided and untamed.
